Pak\u0161-2 je primer upornosti i prevazila\u017eenja problema. On je, uz to, posebno istakao politi\u010dku pozadinu nastavka radova: \u201emnogi su se protivili \u2013 od liberala iz Brisela do Bajdenovih demokrata \u2013 ali smo se sa predsednikom Trampom dogovorili o anuliranju sankcija u vezi sa Paksom-2. U pitanju je evolucija VVER-1000 dizajna i deo velike VVER porodice reaktora. U pitanju su reaktori sa vodom pod pritiskom, hla\u0111eni i moderirani lakom vodom &#8211; dakle, kao i reaktori Vestinghausa, EDF-a i KHNP-a, ali se daju i prepoznati po nekim detaljima: ne primer, parogeneratori su postavljeni horizontalno a gorivni sklopovi su \u0161estougaoni.
